Out and about in the heart of the mountains with a hiking guide

Every Wednesday from June to September, we offer guided hikes in Maishofen. We meet at 8:15 am outside the Maishofen tourist office.

Equipment

hiking boots, backpack, rainwear (always), head covering, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Hike to the Wetterkreuz 1,663 m, Reiterkogel 1,818 m, and over the Hasenauerkammto the Rosswaldhütte – ride up on the Reiterkogelbahn lift

Loop trail to the Forsthofalm and Saalalm, and back to the original starting point

Käfertal to the Trauneralm 1,530 m, your own car; magnificent alpine flora and high moors

Hike to the Örgenbauernalm; lift ride up the Biberg, hike to the Örgenbauernalm via Neunbrunnen to Maishofen

Waterfall path 1,853 m, Ferleiten

Peter Wiechentalerhütte, 1,707 m in Saalfelden

Maurerkogel – Schmittenhöhe loop path, ride the lift up and down

Spielberghaus, ride up on the Kohlmais lift, along the Schwarzleograben over the Bernkogel 1,709 m, to the Spielberghaus and back to Saalbach

Schwalbenwand 2,020 m or Sausteige 1,912 m, this hike takes you directly from the tourist office up to the tops of our well-known local mountains

Alpine Rose Path – ride the lift up the Biberg, Sausteige 1,912 m, Stablberg, back to Maishofen

Hundsstein Statzerhaus, 2,117 m, Thumersbach

Ridge hike to the Krefelderhütte in Kaprun – starting point is the mid-station of the Kitzsteinhorn lift

Hoher Penhab, 2,113 m, Hinterglemm, lift ride up to the Zwölferkogel, via the Hoher Penhab to the Schwarzachergraben and back to the original starting point
