Paragliding

Hinterglemm boasts exceptionally good flying opportunities in winter. With south to east winds, you will normally take off from the Zwölferkogel (ca. 2,000 m), while with a west to northwest wind, the best launch area is from the west summit of the Schattberg (ca. 2,100 m).

You will find good thermals as early as February. So, even if you come to Saalbach to ski, you should always have your paraglider handy. The landing field is located ca. 100 m east of the base station of the Zwölferkogel lift.

In summer, your best option is to take off from the Schattberg in Saalbach, where you can head out to the north or south. The flight area is distinguished by thermals that develop early in the day. As early as 10 am, in fact, you can circle upwards above the peaks of Glemmtal valley. The landing field is located between Saalbach and Hinterglemm, just past the outskirts of Saalbach. Due to the strong thermals close to the landing area, conditions in the afternoon are often difficult to calculate. Which is why, in the summer months, you should only fly in Glemmtal in the morning.

Tandem flights are also offered!
